What happens to your audio
Your browser converts your recording into compressed audio before anything is transmitted. The original file you selected never leaves your device.
The converted audio is stored so that transcription can run and so you can re-transcribe in a different language without uploading again. It is deleted automatically 24 hours after upload.
What we keep
- The transcript text, plus the file name, duration and language of the recording.
- A random identifier stored in your browser so your transcripts appear under "Your transcripts". It is not linked to any personal information.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture.
Training and third parties
Your recordings and transcripts are never used to train AI models, and are never sold or shared for advertising. Transcription is carried out by a third-party AI processing service that produces your text and does not retain the audio.
Cookies
We set no advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, a single cookie keeps you signed in. Signed-out visitors are given only the random identifier described above, stored in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie.
Deleting your data
Stored audio expires on its own within 24 hours. To remove a transcript or an account, contact us and we will delete it.
